Registration Appointments

During the school year, an appointment is required to register your child at Northwest Academy. Please use the form attached to this link (coming soon) to make an appointment. If you do not have an appointment, you will not be able to register.

Welcome Back Mailer

The NAHS Welcome Back Mailer for the 2026-27 school year was sent out on August 11. Please click the links to read the important information in the mailer text and the department chair letters. More information will be coming in our second virtual mailer.

NAHS Personal Electronics Policy

Personal Electronics, like cell phones, earbuds/headphones, and tablets, are not allowed out during the instructional day. Students should leave their cell phones, earbuds/headphones, and tablets in their lockers. For more information, please see the NAHS Cell Phone Policy

Summer Reading Assignment

Over the summer, you will want to continue to read literature to maintain and strengthen literacy skills.  Attached are some activities you can complete to help you capture the information from your summer reading.  Submit at least eight of the completed activities to your English Language Arts and/or Reading teacher(s) in the fall.  Make a cover sheet that includes your first and last name, the title(s), and author(s) of your book(s). Attach together your cover sheet and at least eight of the completed activities.  You can choose to use one book or read several books for the summer reading. If you read more than one book, a cover sheet is needed for each book. This assignment will be due on Monday, October 19-Tuesday, October 20, 2026 to your English Language Arts and/or Reading teacher(s). You are welcome to do more than eight activities if you choose.

BCPL Vision to Learn program

Baltimore County Public Libraries are offering free eye exams and glasses to children ages 4-18 who may not be able to afford them through the Vision To Learn program. For more information on how to make an appointment, see this flyer.

Parents of Rising 7th Grade Students

Your student will be required to have two additional vaccines before 7th grade. The required vaccines are:

  • Tdap: Also called Boostrix and Adacel, this is a booster vaccine that prevents three diseases – tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough.) The Tdap vaccine is often given at the eleven-year-old checkup.
  • Menactra: Also called MenQuadfi or Menveo, this is a vaccine that prevents against several strains of meningococcal meningitis. The meningitis vaccine is recommended to be given to children who are eleven years old.

Please contact your child’s health care provider to determine if your child has already received the vaccines:

  • If your child has received both vaccines, please send updated immunization records to school.
  • If your child needs one or more vaccines, please schedule an appointment with your child’s health care provider to obtain the needed vaccines.

The Baltimore County Department of Health is administering vaccines in certain locations. Call 410-887-2705 to make an appointment. More information on vaccine clinics is on the Baltimore County Department of Health website.

If your student has religious or medical exemptions from Immunizations, please contact Ms. Jett ([email protected]), the NAHS school nurse.
