Native American Heritage Month Contest (Posted 11/18/20)

Diversity Logo Contest 

In addition to the celebration, we are happy to announce a diversity logo contest.  Students are welcome to participate in the creation of Northwest Academy of Health and Sciences’ first diversity logo contest.  The logo should reflect the values of Northwest Academy of Health and Sciences and the importance of diversity, access, equity and inclusion.  The logo can be created digitally or by hand.  Logo submissions are due on November 24, 2020 and should be submitted to    

Native American Heritage Fictional Short Story Contest 

November is Native American Heritage Month.  The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native peoples.  Given the important role of Native Americans and other indigenous peoples of the Americas and their ongoing contributions to American society and the world, this contest provides students with an opportunity to learn about indigenous narratives by creating authentic fictional short stories.  These stories will be showcased within our school community.   

Contest Rules 

  • Open to all NAHS students 
  • Focus on any indigenous communities/tribes from the Americas 
  • Between 200-500 word count 
  • Due on November 30, 2020 
  • Judged by NAHS administration and teachers 
  • Submit to

Native American/American Indian Heritage Month (Posted 10/28/2020)

November is Native American Heritage Month, also known as American Indian Heritage Month. This month is dedicated to celebrating the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories of native peoples and to acknowledge their important contributions in history and society today. 

This video examines the origins of Native American Heritage Month and its importance.

Device Update (Posted: 08/27/2020)

In order to receive a device for your child this fall, we need your help by completing the correct form below:

1. If your child’s device is in need of a repair or in need of a device charger, please submit a repair ticket by going to:  Device Repair/ Charger Request (If you submitted the NAHS form to indicate that your child needed a charger or the device is in need of a repair, you must submit a repair ticket)


2. If your child is new to Baltimore County Public Schools, is an incoming 6th grade student to NAHS who did not receive a device in the spring or this summer, or your child left their device in a BCPS school this past spring, please complete the following form:  New BCPS students/ Incoming 6th grade students without device/ Returning BCPS students whose devices were left in school (If you have previously completed the form indicating that your child did not receive a device, please do not complete this form again)
